Wһаt аrе tһе advantages & disadvantages οf each one tο уου? I рυt up a real one several years ago аחԁ stressed all through tһе Xmas holiday worrying аbουt іt catching fire. Mу fаkе tree іѕ fireproof аחԁ I don’t һаνе tο worry аbουt vacuuming up tһе pine needles fοr tһе next 10 months.
Always a real tree. I keep mine watered and unplug the lights if I leave the house.
I usually get an artificial tree up, if i see a really nice real tree, BIG and fluffy, i buy it. if not i stick with my artificial.
we have a fake one and its sooooooo much better because it doesnt die and you can dont have to clean up after it
i guess thats better, but you dont get to smell the tree or go pick it out. its just the same every year which in my opinion robs you of a great experience each time.
Artificial all the way baby! I do miss the smell though, of the natural trees. Happy Holidays to you, Mark C.
I have always had an artifical tree. Its easy to care for, and store.
I have a fake tree that looks very real and I like it. I know that it will fit in the apartment every time i put it up, I know how many lights and ornaments I need to decorate it, No worries about fires. But I do miss the piney scent though, (air fresheners are not the same).
Have been using real trees for as long as I can remember. Next year we will probably have to change to a artificial one, cause the real ones are starting to brother my wife’s asthma
I have a fake tree. It’s much less hassle to put up, plus it’s easier than a real tree, it’s also cheaper because you don’t have to buy a new one each year.
The only advantage of a real tree is the smell. And I agree about the concern of a fire. Ask any fireman and he will tell you that there is an increase this time of year in home fires due to trees catching fire. And when they do they actually explode and set everything near on fire as well. I would like to put my decorated artificial tree on wheels and roll it out each year for Christmas. LOL!!!!!
Fake-pine makes me sneeze.
i always buy a real x-mas tree.. i just add water every other day..
fake ones are okay .. but i love the smell that it lets out….
I like the smell of a real christmas tree
but its messy with the pine needles falling
and its a fire hazardous and the apartment building we live in for bids a live one
so we have a fake one that we use every year
but over the years it has accumulate dust
so its pretty dusty
Neither, I buy a live tree that way after I can plant it and it doesn’t have to die for no reason
Fake trees don’t burn they melt.
I don’t buy a real tree, we just go into the woods find one we like cut it down and put it up in the house. If you use a little sugar in the water the pine needles will stay on longer and you’ll have more fragrance. Pine needles for 10 months not if you wax the floor under the tree in a 6 foot diameter around the tree, the needles fall and are easyly cleaned up with a dust cloth!!!
Besides with all the fakeness to Christmas now it’s nice to know one real thing exsists as a symbol.
our christams tree is fake. its about 12 iches tall, comes pre decorated, and we put it on top of the TV HEHEHEHE i love our little tree <3 its great cuzour house is small so we dont have room to fi tin a real tree… trust me we tried for years. and it wont catch on fire
KOOL question! I like a real tree only because of the time spent going and picking it out with my wife and stepson; it’s fun. If not for them I might not even have a tree. Being with family; part of the season. Just my opinion.
Real. Not just for the obvious reason, that it smells better and gives that true warm feeling of Xmas, but for not-so-obvious reasons too.
Fake trees are bad for the environment. The chemicals used to make them don’t break down properly and pollute our soil, water, and kill plants and animals.
Yes, a real tree means you just killed a real tree. So, plant one in its place, or ten, http://www.treesforlife.org. And, dispose of your real tree properly by recycling it…
I have a Norfolk Pine that’s real. I used to hate the idea that people cut down a beautiful tree just to decorate it with a bunch of gaudy ordimants (I know I’m sappy but it is still a living thing). Yet there’s nothing like the smell and essence of a real tree. So to balance the two and save myself some work I bought a real tree I don’t have to worry will dry out and start on fire, I don’t have to feel guilty about stealing its life away, and set up/ take down is a snap. I really enjoy my Chrismas tree becuase I get to watch it get taller every year.
